Down to Xjabelle - Brown Frige Vest

This vest began its life as a vintage Guatemalan huipil — hand-embroidered by a Guatemalan weaver. Down to Xjabelle has turned it inside out, letting the reverse of the embroidery become the front: loose threads, fringe, and texture that would normally stay hidden are now the whole point.

The cotton vest sits open at the front, finished with a soft velvet rim along the neckline and edges. Because the textile is upcycled and already has a life behind it, you may notice small irregularities in the weave or embroidery — these aren't flaws, they're proof the piece existed before it became this vest.
